Album Description:
With Prophecy, Muertissima delivers a dark, visceral, and uncompromising album.
A raw death metal sound, tinged with thrash and black, that stands as a sharp critique of modern society. Through violent, raw, and symbolic lyrics, the album explores universal and disturbing themes: war, the downfall of humanity, religious corruption, the worship of money, and the desperate search for meaning.
Each track resonates like a prophecy of collapse — a brutal sonic fresco of a world in decay, where freedom can only be seized through death or rebellion. Driven by an infernal atmosphere, crushing riffs, and genuine rage, Prophecy is a visceral scream against hypocrisy, spiritual emptiness, and the illusion of power.
An album that doesn’t seek to please, but to confront, disturb, and awaken.
Biography:
Founded by guitarist El Pradosaure, Muertissima is a Death Metal band hailing from the Paris region. From its early days, the band has asserted a powerful musical signature, blending old-school Death Metal with elements of Black and Thrash in a sonic alchemy that is both effective and brutal.
Influenced by legendary acts such as Morbid Angel, Carcass, Slayer, At the Gates, and Hypocrisy, Muertissima has developed a sharp-edged style, tinged with dark atmospheres and controlled fury. The result: uncompromising metal, raw, hard-hitting, and aimed right where it hurts.
In 2021, the band released their debut album through Music Records, recorded at Lower Tones Place Studio. The response was immediate: Muertissima was praised for its razor-sharp sound and straightforward approach, reviving the roots of Death Metal with a strong personal twist.
In 2022, they took part in the split release Alutiae 1, also on Music Records, alongside extreme bands like Depraved, Noïtatalïd, Massive Charge, and Anthropovore. Two original tracks contributed to this collaborative project, further cementing the band’s place on the French scene.
Since then, Muertissima has been playing shows all over France, with over fifty live dates to their name, sharing the stage with notable acts such as Agressor, Impureza, and No Return. On stage, the band delivers an intense, visceral performance where every riff hits like an explosion.
In 2023, the band began writing their second album, with a clear ambition: to go further, hit harder, and set every stage ablaze. Muertissima is an enraged sonic manifesto, a celebration of raw power, driven by the motto:
“Friends, beer, and brawls!!!”
